2014 Shake Ridge Vineyards Red Wine- Amador
The Shake Ridge terroir shines through this lovely vintage with its structure and boldness. We harvested over ten days between September 4th and 13th in yet another early drought- influenced year. Asian spice, black tea, and iron have always been a signature of Anne Kraemer’s stunning vineyard in the Amador foothills. Dried cherry, blood orange, pomegranate and crushed rock dominate the flavors with gentle tannins and vibrant acidity. The Grenache just sings with its ruby color to its inviting aromatics. Aged for seventeen months in a combination of fifty percent new and neutral Burgundian cooperage, we favor large format for aging these incredible wines. Youthfully fresh and stunning now with decanting. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 213 cases produced.
